Stranger Than Heaven Combat Gameplay Shown

Sega posted a video for Ryū ga Gotoku Studio’s upcoming action adventure title Stranger Than Heaven. The twenty-minute video features Community Manager Carlos Lopez and Associate Director of Product Marketing Brent Gettmann, who showcase the game’s combat across three of its eras. Combat in Stranger Than Heaven sees players controlling Makoto’s left and right sides independently, potentially blocking enemy strikes with one hand while counterattacking with the other, with the game including weapons such as knives, hammers, and katanas.

Stranger Than Heaven starts in 1915, following young boy Makoto Daito, who boards a ship in San Francisco seeking to travel to his mother’s homeland of Japan. Showing his rise to success as a master showman, the game takes players to five different locations and time periods in Japan over the next fifty years. Stranger Than Heaven is set to release on January 15, 2027, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
