One of the new releases that we overlooked for our indie highlights in August 2026 feature earlier this month is something called Future Knight, which has recently released on Xbox and boasts a really cool LCD visual aesthetic!
The game is a 2D shoot 'em up in which you play as a robot attempting to save humanity's memory, taking place "inside the technology of a calculator and a liquid crystal display". It switches between both horizontal and vertical scrolling as you progress through the eight biomes that are on offer.
