You Can Now Buy Digital Video Games on DoorDash
DoorDash has added the ability to buy digital video games through the app, alongside physical games, consoles, gaming accessories, discounted gift cards for services like Xbox and Roblox, and snacks and drinks. So now you can get all your game-night essentials in one place, and DashPass members also get additional perks.
To celebrate the launch, customers who spend $50 or more on a digital game can earn a free DoorDash eGift Card. Through August 31, eligible DashPass members receive $25 and eligible non-DashPass customers receive $10. For the remainder of the year, eligible DashPass members receive $15 and eligible non-DashPass customers receive $5. Plus, DashPass members will get access to exclusive rotating food and retail offers with qualifying video game purchases on DoorDash later this year.
Life is busy enough already, which is why convenience is king. So now in one app you can buy a digital game while also ordering a new headset and getting some food and drinks to complete your game night. While your game downloads, a Dasher can deliver the rest in as fast as 30 minutes.**
With this launch, there’s a new gaming tab in the DoorDash app where you can browse these options, marked by a controller icon in the top menu. At launch, there are hundreds of games available across PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox. They span a range of genres, from EA Sports FC 26 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 to Pokémon Pokopia and Super Mario Galaxy 2. New games will be added over time, and you’ll also be able to pre-order some of the year’s most anticipated titles, including Grand Theft Auto VI, right from the app.
The process of buying items and redeeming codes is simple. When you buy a digital game, a download code is sent to your email. Then you just redeem it on whatever platform you’re playing on. For physical items, you can use DoubleDash to order from different stores in the same delivery. For example, you could get a gaming headset from Best Buy and snacks, drinks, and other essentials from 7-Eleven together.
If you’re a DashPass member, you already have access to the gaming-related benefits mentioned above at no additional cost. You can enjoy those benefits right now. If you’re not a member yet, DashPass is currently available for $9.99 per month.
In addition to gaming-related benefits, DashPass includes $0 delivery fees, 5% credit back on eligible pickup orders, and member-exclusive offers on restaurants, groceries, convenience, retail, and more.
