The year 2000 marked a rather fascinating time for Spider-Man. It was the year that Sam Raimi was named director of the upcoming live-action Spider-Man film, which was set to star Tobey Maguire. Great news, but that film was two years away at least. Perhaps more considering the troubled history of Spider-Man's journey to the big screen.
