There are games that claim they were influenced by The Elder Scrolls and then there are games made by developers who are so obsessed with The Elder Scrolls that they practically made their very own Elder Scrolls game. Spellcast Studios' Ardenfall is very much the latter, as it took me no time at all upon launching its demo on Steam to feel like I was actually playing a classic Elder Scrolls game with a different, almost more humorous coat of paint. Ardenfall is currently scheduled to launch into Early Access in late 2026, which feels like perfect timing for anyone looking to ease the still-very-long wait for The Elder Scrolls 6.
