New ‘GTA 6 leak’ shows Jason playing basketball, but is it real?

New “footage” of GTA 6 has leaked, featuring what appears to be Jason striking a pose, hopping over a balcony, and shooting a few hoops before losing his basketball to the water. But is this a fan-made clip or an original?

The honest truth is, it’s hard to tell, and there’s a very suspicious QR code related to some “cyberleek” website. Please, DO NOT scan that QR code or click through to that website unless you enjoy having your passwords stolen.

The clip itself looks decidedly janky. The way “Jason” lands after jumping over the balcony looks a little sus in my book. It just feels like Rockstar would do a far smoother job with the animations in GTA 6.

There were also a couple of “map leaks”, credited to the same website but posted by different users on r/GTA6unmoderated. Again, I do not advise anyone to visit that website.

Now, some users on Reddit have posted this footage as a leak, while others have posted it as fan-made GTA 6 gameplay. And honestly, it’s kind of hard to tell. Some swear it’s real (hopium?), but to me it just doesn’t look quite good enough to be Rockstar’s new baby.

So I thought it was fake right off the bat. I still think it’s fake, but I do admit it’s really well-done enough to cause some doubt. At the same time, if this was the game we’re getting on Nov. 19, I’d be pretty disappointed.

But then my expectations are through the roof, as are most players’. I mean, we’ve had to wait for 13 years. Please, let GTA 6 look and feel better than this.

It could be that it was an older build of the game that somehow got out, but in that case, there’s no real significance here, either, since it’ll look nothing like what we’re getting on Nov. 19.

The original video was posted on other GTA-related subreddits, but has since been removed from those I saw due to self-promotion, specifically containing links to external websites. And dodgy ones, at that.

I wouldn’t click on anything that claims to be a GTA 6 leak for a while. You never know whether it’s a fan desperate for some clout or a hacker ready to steal your personal information.
