MMORPG Stars Reach Released on Early Access
Playable Worlds has released sandbox sci-fi MMORPG Stars Reach on Steam Early Access. The Early Access version of the game is available in three tiers: the Firstlight Pack ($29.99), the Voyager Pack ($49.99), and the Cosmonaut Pack ($79.99), which offer various in-game bonuses and cosmetics. The game is expected to spend at least six months in Early Access, with its final release to be available as a free-to-play title.
Stars Reach is developed by a team led by Ultima Online lead designer and Star Wars Galaxies creative director Raph Koster. The game sees players explore planets in a simulated universe, building homes and settlements as well as gathering resources, crafting, trading, fighting, governing, and more. Each world is said to have its own climates, seasons, resources, and environment conditions, with players able to settle them, establish governments, and impose taxes. It features a classless progression system with both on-ground and ship-based combat.
