NHK Radio Broadcast on Ado Narrated by Hatsune Miku

NHK has announced that it will broadcast a special radio program featuring the popular singer Ado, which will also have narration by the Vocaloid Hatsune Miku. This radio program will have Ado ~Things the 23-year-old me wants to convey~ as its full title, and it will premiere in Japan on August 30, 2026. It will also feature an interview with Ado, conducted by the NHK announcer Chieko Katayama.

The radio channel employing Hatsune Miku as a narrator will offer a more profound experience in retelling the past and present of Ado. This is because Miku and the wider Vocaloid scene have served as part of the inspirations that helped Ado overcome her self-denial and inferiority complexes from her younger years, and eventually build her career as a professional singer. She has also since performed songs for franchises like the One Piece anime series and Sega’s upcoming 2027 game, Stranger Than Heaven.

Other than Vocaloid, the amateur Utaite singers and the Utattemita cover scene form the other part of Ado’s inspiration pillar. Ado still keeps this inspiration close to her, as she released Ado’s Utattemita Album, which featured a compilation of her cover songs, in late 2023. As of 2026, she is working on the second Utattemita album, which is slated for release around the 2026-2027 winter season.

Ado ~Things the 23-year-old me wants to convey~ will be broadcast on NHK AM on Sunday, August 30, 2026, from 8:05 to 8:55 PM JST. The radio channel is also accessible online via NHK One Radiru*Radiru.
