Kingdom Hearts IV Releasing Late 2027, New Trailer Released

During the showcase presentation at the D23 2026 fan event, Disney released a new trailer for Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts IV. The new trailer reveals that the game will include a world from the film Coco, as well as teasing some of its main story elements, before confirming a late 2027 release window on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.

In addition, Disney announced that it is collaborating with Tetsuya Nomura and Square Enix on a Kingdom Hearts animated series. The series will feature an original story that is said to expand the Kingdom Hearts universe and will be available on the Disney Channel and Disney+. No further details have been revealed at this time.

Kingdom Hearts IV is said to be the start of a new “Lost Master Arc” storyline, with its main story involving the mysterious city of Quadratum. In addition to Quadratum, the game will take Sora to more worlds, interacting with various new characters, and awakening new powers.
