Mortal Shell 2 has a bunch of buffs and debuffs that can apply as different ailments and status effects. While you can inflict them on the enemies, they can do the same to you if you can’t parry/dodge an incoming attack.
In this game, I will go through all the key status effects and how they work.

ChaosApplies a random condition that expires after a certain time. FaithGet additional rate of Resolve generation. FragileAll primary weapons deal bonus damage. FrostAffected targets will be frozen and unable to move. LightningGained stacks deal damage over time, but can also explore after a certain threshold. LeechKill enemies to gain stacks that raise your max health. PerforationRaises the damage from all firearms. PhantomDeals Break and splash damage after a fixed duration. PoisonGain stacks that will deal damage over time. ShadowBecome invisible for a fixed duration. StasisGain stacks that slow the enemy movement. WeakReduces damage from all affected targets. TraumaDoes Break damage over time.While some bosses can inflict you with these afflictions, you don’t have to worry about them from ordinary enemies. However, you can inflict them on the enemies based on the build you’re using.

You can also utilize different consumables to apply some of these effects. When you’re making a build, always focus on the status effects and pick those that will gel well with your preferred shell.
