Terranigma Might Appear at Pixel Arcadia Showcase
The SNES JRPG Terranigma may be returning for modern platforms based on a Clear River Games teaser for the Pixel Arcadia showcase. The video appeared on multiple social media channels tied to the publisher. The full reveal will happen ahead of gamescom 2026 at 11am PT/2pm ET/8pm CET on August 24, 2026 on YouTube. [Thanks, Resetera!]
Most notably, as pointed out by –R on Resetera, the barely visible text at the bottom of the brief teaser video includes trademark information that references Kamui Fujiwara, Quintet, and Square Enix. Fujiwara was the character designer and artist tied to the project. Quintet was its developer. Enix published the action-RPG on the Super Famicom in Japan, which would explain the Square Enix mention now. (In Europe, Nintendo acted as the publisher for the SNES version.) The video also features a voice saying, “Wake up! All the living things in the world await your awakening.” This could be a reference to the mission and message given to Ark. (That game also begins with Elle waking him up and him mentioning the dreams he’s been having.)
Here’s the full teaser from social media:
It's time to wake up.

A Clear River Games related release of Terranigma would mark the first time the SNES JRPG would be released worldwide, as originally it only appeared in Japan and Europe. It would also follow a Change.org petition in July 2021 attempting to draw attention to a return. The Pixel Arcadia showcase seems dedicated to rereleases, retro style games, and HD remakes, so it’s unknown the extent of this possible return.
Terranigma is available on the Super Famicom and Super Nintendo in Japan and Europe, and the Pixel Arcadia showcase will air at 11am PT/2pm ET/8pm CET on August 24, 2026.
