Arguably moreso than most game genres, fighting games tend to be a bit all or nothing in their reception from both fans and critics. We’re lucky if we get at least one genuine banger of a fighting game per generation, after all, so when the word gets out that a game is awesome, people tend to congregate around it from both sides of the divide. However, there are some outliers to this trend.
