If there is one thing I like about JRPGs, it's that they are comfortably similar while still being creatively distinct. What I mean is: I know what I will get whenever I boot up a new JRPG, but at the same time, I am always surprised by some feature or gimmick that a new title introduces. It's a perfect mix between familiarity and novelty.
