Madoka Magica Walpurgisnacht Rising Movie Spoilers Notice Shared

Aniplex and Shaft used the official Puella Magi Madoka Magica social media account to ask that people not post any spoilers regarding the upcoming Walpurgisnacht Rising movie. This includes the opening sequence, which will be in theaters ahead of its official release date and played during the Rebellion film re-release that started in Japan on August 14, 2026.

While the account did not specify what someone could constitute as “spoilers,” it’s safe to assume that it’s anything to do with the plot and its characters. Most trailers and marketing don’t provide much information on what the movie will be about. For example, while Sayaka Miki is shown wearing bandages over her face in marketing materials and merchandise, we still don’t know why yet and someone explaining online could violate this request. The ban on spoilers for the Madoka Magica movie Walpurgisnacht Rising will lift on September 12, 2026.

There are some caveats to this warning. These rules do not apply to anyone using Fusetter or spoiler warnings on review sites. This is because the reader needs to opt into them, rather than having them blasted onto the timeline without warning.

The Walpurgisnacht Rising movie is a direct sequel to Rebellion, which is the start of a new theatrical canon separate from the original show.
