Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column, we look to provide our readers with details on the major RPGs released since our last update. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases where the game is still in development. Pricing is shown in US dollars before application of any discounts, local pricing may vary.
Dungeon Antiqua 2

Dungeon Antiqua 2 is a 2D dungeon-crawling RPG inspired by SNES classics. Players explore six dungeons, with visibility of corridors and enemies depending on the party’s current vision. The game is said to take around a dozen hours to complete, with players building a party from ten different classes, five of which are unlocked at the start.

The Legend of Heroes III: White Witch is the first game in the Gagharv trilogy (preceding the later Trails series) and released in Japan in 1994. It follows Jurio and Chris, who embark on a pilgrimage for their village’s coming-of-age ceremony, eventually leading them to uncover the mystery of the White Witch. The game received a PlayStation Portable remake, which was confusing titled The Legend of Heroes II: Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch in North America, while other versions were never localised.

Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time sees players drifting onto an island that was previously home to a prosperous civilisation. Players develop the island through quests and crafting before being able to time travel back into the past, where they can learn secrets about the island and potentially rewrite history. The game includes fourteen different roles, or Lives, for players to freely change between as they build up their town, as well as online co-op for up to four players.
Feed the Scorchpot

Feed the Scorchpot comes roguelike and turn-based tabletop-style strategy gameplay. The game sees players striking a deal with a dragon for twenty years of protection in exchange for providing twenty years of dinner service. They will need to harvest ingredients and prepare recipes to satisfy the hunger of the dragon, who will feed regardless. Grim Trials is a heavy metal action roguelite. The game puts players in the role of Avelin, a young woman who has met an untimely end, only to be recruited as one of Death’s Reapers. In order to become a full-fledged Reaper, she must hunt down impure souls and face her demons in a personal underworld. Players fight through hexagonal arenas, making use of scythes, crossbows, and blessings from the Gods of Death.
Mortal Shell II

Action RPG Mortal Shell II is a standalone sequel to 2020 title Mortal Shell. It takes place in a ravaged fantasy world and puts players in the role of the Harbinger, a being “prophesied to reclaim the blessed Undermether’s stolen Ova from the daunting creatures that ruthlessly guard her unborn”. The game features an open world with various landmarks and regions as well as over sixty dungeons to explore. Like its predecessor, players possess the bodies of fallen warriors, using their shells as they navigate and battle across a desolate world. Each shell has its own combat style, with new talents and upgrades becoming available as players’ connections with them grow.

Rhapsody II: Ballad of the Little Princess is the second game in the Marl Kingdom series that began with Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure. The game was released for PlayStation in Japan in 1999 and follows Kururu — the daughter of Cornet and Ferdinand — as she goes on a quest to find true love. It is separate to the previous release as part of NIS America’s 2023 Rhapsody: Marl Kingdom Chronicles bundle on PC, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch, which is available in English. Small Saga

Turn-based RPG Small Saga is set in Rodentia, a medieval kingdom of rats, mice, moles, squirrels, and shrews below the city of London. The game follows Verm, a mouse armed with a pen knife, hunting down the human who stole his tail. On his journey, Verm joins forces with a mole wizard, a squirrel harlequin, and a lab rat lancer, with the party taking on various enemies in turn-based combat featuring a limited energy system.

Farming/life sim Starsand Island sees players returning to their relaxing childhood home island for personal healing. They build and decorate their own countryside villa while farming, fishing, befriending animals, building relationships with the locals, and more. Players can travel the island using a number of vehicles, as well as sail to other nearby islands. The game also includes mysterious ruins where players can find treasure and minerals alongside strange creatures to battle against.
Steins;Gate Re:Boot

Steins;Gate Re:Boot is a new remake of 2009 sci-fi visual novel Steins;Gate. The game is set in Akihabara, Tokyo and follows a student named Okabe Rintaro who being involves with conspiracy surrounding time travel and sending messages to the past.
