With the Nintendo Entertainment System being roughly a billion years old, revisiting its greatest games doesn't guarantee a good time. Unlike the SNES's library, which stands the test of time, NES games show their age, and archaic design choices make them difficult to fully enjoy. Don't get me wrong, Metroid and The Legend of Zelda are both masterpieces, but that doesn't mean anybody needs to play them in 2026.
