Chapter Seven, season four of Fortnite puts a lot of power in the players’ hands, offering all kinds of different ways to shape the game as you see fit. One of these features is Match Overrides, and there are quite a lot of them to choose from.
This is a powerful mechanic quite unlike anything we’ve seen on the island before, so figuring out how it works and learning which options are available to use is crucial. To help you navigate this tricky feature, here are all Match Overrides and their effects in Fortnite.

What are Match Overrides in Fortnite?
Match Overrides are rule changes you can enact upon the Fortnite island. Most of them are server-wide, which means the effects you trigger apply to everyone playing in the same round as you. Overrides can be activated at Consoles around the island.
Some of the rarer ones, though, only apply to you and your teammates. Upon triggering any Rare or Mythic Override, your location will be marked on the map for all to see. Activating any type of Override also adds your name to the console for everyone to see.
All Match Overrides in Fortnite
As of the time of writing, there are 12 Match Overrides available to activate in Fortnite. This number will likely be expanded upon in future updates, though, so as any additional ones become available, we’ll add them here.

Upon interacting with any Override Console, you’ll be presented with three randomly selected Match Overrides to choose from. Luck and random chance determine which ones you get, so sometimes, you may have three amazing options, while others, you might not really like any of them.
Still, it’s always worth triggering some kind of Override, as even the worst ones still offer pretty solid benefits. You also need to use this feature to check off some key quests, so it’s ultimately a win-win.
